Wolford’s innovations are all based on proprietary, highly-specialized knitting technology developed through ongoing intensive research and development. An in-house research and development department gives the company the ability to innovate and inspire with a stream of new products.

Wolford has 55 employees working in product development, and spent €7.4 million in the 2015/16 financial year alone. This commitment to research is the secret behind the many product innovations that have earned Wolford the title of industry trendsetter.

New Frontiers

In 2014 Wolford launched the world’s first glued tights with its Pure 50 series, and one year later introduced the ultra-thin Pure 10 version. These tights were made possible with an innovation in gluing technology- for which a patent is pending- that makes it possible to glue seams so thin that they are invisible underneath tight clothing.

Wolford has continued to innovate, and has recently focused its efforts towards the legwear sector. The launch of the Nude 8 product family as part of the Spring/Summer 2016 collection introduced an innovative material perfectly suited for warm seasons. It is absolutely transparent and almost invisibly creates the impression of perfect skin. More legwear innovations will continue to be unveiled as the Autumn/Winter 2016 collection is released.
